free downloadable organ music
This site will most likely disappear in the next month or two. If you are at all interested in any organ music which you have not yet downloaded, I'd recommend doing so as soon as possible.
This page contains downloadable PDF files of organ music. The music is free to download, print, share and perform, but is still under copyright; you must leave the copyright notice on any printed or shared copies.
To view the music, click on the name of the tune you are interested in. (As you hover over the link, the name of the text that I associate most closely with that tune appears.) When the pages appear, you can download or print them using the tools supplied by Adobe.
A recording of The Wheels in the Fire, from Visions of Ezekiel (see below under Concert Works), is available on the CD Volume I: Sacred Inspirations, performed by Sarah Simko. You can find out more about this CD at https://www.sarahsimko.com/
My music background is 32 years as organist at various Lutheran churches, 5 years as music instructor and professor at Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota and Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Virginia. I've had organ music published by MorningStar, Augsburg-Fortress, Concordia, Alfred, and Hinshaw. I was winner of the AGO Organ Composition Competition in 2002 (What Wondrous Love Is This, O My Soul, premiered by Alan Morrison and published by Hinshaw) and was commissioned to write a piece for the 2006 National Convention in Chicago (People, Look East!, premiered by Aaron David Miller and published by MorningStar). I Sing the Birth, a setting for SATB and harp of a Ben Jonson text, was a winner of the 2000 Welcome Christmas Carol Contest, premiered by VocalEssence, Philip Brunelle conducting. I studied organ with Paul Manz, Heinrich Fleischer, and Robert Glasgow, and composition with Dominick Argento, Paul Fetler, Jan Bender, and Alex Lubet.
